Interesting! Did not see that before.

Thanks.

With Dolphin, try
"Settings" > "Configure Dolphin..." > "General" > "Behavior"
under "View Properties",
tick "Use common view properties for all folders",
if I understand your problem correctly.

On the command line,

$ kfmclient openProfile filemanagement
does this (as does $ kfmclient openURL [$HOME]).

$ kfmclient openProfile webbrowsing
This is the same as simply entering "konqueror".

I fooled around with "kfmclient openURL".
$ kfmclient openURL ~/Wallpapers
lists wallpapers.
$ kfmclient openURL ~/Wallpapers/kristen-bell-1680x1050-25897.jpg
brings up a wallpaper of Kristen Bell.
Is this useful?

Anyway, in "~/.fluxbox/menu", I have:
....
[exec] (Sakura) {sakura}
[exec] (Konqui) {kfmclient openURL $HOME}
[exec] (Firefox) {firefox}
[exec] (Thunderbird) {thunderbird}
....
Konqui is my name for Konqeror as a file manager. I do a similar thing
with an icon on KDE (Folder View), with Properties > Application
(Command: kfmclient openProfile filemanagement). "kfmclient openURL
~/Documents/" takes me directly to that directory. I may name the icon
"Fetch_Docs".

Well, as long as Dolphin is installed, which it should be by default,
Konqueror has both the file manager and web browser parts built in.

How on earth did you manage to smash your system by just installing
Konqueror? What else did you do, before, during or after installing
Konqueror that you aren't telling us?

Did you install the 32bit version on a 64bit system and have a lot of
the 64bit packages downgraded to their 32bit equivalents? Mixed
various repos and explicitly told yast/zypper to ignore broken
dependencies?

Thanks.

Whatever it is, I will try it. Thew machine is upside-down anyway.

The problem I am facing now: trying to install more for Konqueror makes he
machine now crash. The error log says something about plasma and segmentation
fault. My question is: How can I stop these steps to be done? How can I interupt
execution before that?
