From: rahmathali82 on 14 Jun 2010 12:50 Hi, I changed the pc to workgroup from domain without deleting the computer from ADUC in the server and after restarting the pc, again I rejoined the pc to the domain controller. After joining the pc to the domain I logged in as the same user but I lost the user's previous profile (Included the Internal & External Mail). My question is, can I recover the profile? If yes please let me know how can I recover? Waiting for a positive reply, Thanks in advance. From: Larry Struckmeyer[SBS-MVP] on 14 Jun 2010 17:41 Hi Syed: Log on to the station as the domain admin, browse to the old users folders and copy out what you need to the new users identical folders. Usually, desktop, favorites and my documents are the ones you will need. - Larry -Please post the resolution to your issue so others may benefit -Get Your SBS Health Check at www.sbsbpa.com > Hi, > > I changed the pc to workgroup from domain without deleting the > computer from ADUC in the server and after restarting the pc, again I > rejoined the pc to the domain controller. > > After joining the pc to the domain I logged in as the same user but I > lost the user's previous profile (Included the Internal & External > Mail). > > My question is, can I recover the profile? From: rahmathali82 on 15 Jun 2010 02:12 Thanks for your reply, I have already took the desktop backup etc. I have lost my outlook express & MS-OUTLOOK 2003 mailbox which I am using for external mails. I recovered the internal mails but I want to recover the external mailbox for the user, how can I recover? -- rahmathali82 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ rahmathali82's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/232475.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/small-business-server/415714.htm http://forums.techarena.in
From: Larry Struckmeyer[SBS-MVP] on 15 Jun 2010 07:35 They are in that users profile under "local settings". You may have to change the view options to show all folders, but you are looking for .pst and .dbx files, then copy all of those into the same folders for the new user. Or better, use a different folder, I *never* leave them there as they are hard to find, so I put them in (drive_letter)\Outlook and OLE. Once you have found and moved them, you can set the programs to look in the folder you specify for the data files. Search Engines will flush out the details. Stop using techarena and so on, which are unreliable. Use the MS forums directly. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/id-ID/smallbusinessserver/threads - Larry -Please post the resolution to your issue so others may benefit -Get Your SBS Health Check at www.sbsbpa.com > Thanks for your reply, I have already took the desktop backup etc. > I have lost my outlook express & MS-OUTLOOK 2003 mailbox which I am > using for external mails.
