I happen to know the reception is fine when standing on my roof. I live in a bit of a dip as far as my local ( < 1mile) mast is concerned, however I recently turned on cell boadcast and discovered that the phone is actually using a mast over 12 miles way. Lots of trees around my house as well. Since the police state will lock me up if I buy a repeater, are you able to explain further about the other passive option.

But another poster has indicated that bandwidth consumption should not be an issue. Thanks.

I've very worried about how we are drifting into a surveillance society and ploice state, and your comment undermines the objections.

If you exceed the threshhold, you don't lose internet as you can buy more allowance.
