Mines fine with just a basic plastic vent holder, and a power wire
coming up from the cig lighter. It's fairly high too so the phone should
get a view to the sky through the windscreen.

Used mine in a Mondeo with heated screen (not meant to be the best thing
for GPS), and it was only troublesome amongst the high rises in London
centre.
