Just wondered how everyone insures their iPhone?

The company I am with now has a 'special' iPhone policy, whch is 8.24
per month. (currently 5.88 for normal phone).

My home insurance, Endsleigh, would charge 3.33 but fraudulent use is
only up to 150. I would have thought that with data use so much greater
nowadays, someone might well run that up quickly, as well as calls. Or
am I being over paranoid?

Any thoughts?

I don't. I've never lost a phone, or broken one to the extent of it
being unusable, in 12 years of mobile ownership. This surprises me
somewhat, as I can be really rather clumsy at times...

So about 200 over a 2 year contract, thereby assuming you will lose or
damage one every 4 years.

Set up the PIN activated locking feature. Mine locks after 1 minute,
and can only be unlocked with my PIN code. The SIM has a PIN set as
well, so if it is removed from the phone, it can't be used. Therefore,
unless someone gets their mitts on it less than a minute after I'd last
used it, and turns it on immediately, there shouldn't be any fraudulent
use. I don't know how much calls to the most expensive places/numbers
are, but I guess it would still take >30 mins to rack up 150. I would
hope I'd notice it was gone within 30 mins, and call my provider to shut
it down.

I basically "self insure" my phones. I can afford to replace the phone
if I do lose or break it, and given the measures I described above, the
chances of fraudulent use are relatively low. The cost of replacing the
phone is unpleasant, but not outwith my reach. Obviously, this method
is not an option for everyone, but it works for me. Over 12 years I've
probably saved in excess of 1000 on insurance I haven't paid, I can't
think of an occasion where I would have claimed on it anyway.

Data use? Isn't it unlimited?

Phone calls, certainly. 8.24 seems a lot, but then mine isn't insured
so I don't know.

Not if you take it abroad.

I have phone cover (I specified I had an iPhone) with my current bank
account (looks wrong written that way round:P). This is Additions with
Barclays. There probably are equivalent things with other banks. I do
have to pay them a monthly fee higher than what you quoted but there
are many other 'benefits', some of which are useful (or potentially
useful) to me and others not -as is often the case with bundles.
