OK, that's another measurement that's not made in your old version.
I'll see if I can try to program up a workaround sometime (which,
again, I can't really test since I don't have an old version). Any
chance you can upgrade to the newest version (and avoid a bunch of
problems like this)?

What I say (again) is that you should research papers of people who
have done this before. It's not going to be some simple solution like
median filter your image and then threshold it, so you need to see how
the experts / experienced people for that kind of image have already
solved the problem.
