I don't run a timeserver here. I set the gateway computer's clock using rdate and then use scripts calling date on the other boxes on the LAN to read and set their time from the gateway box. Now you are going to tell me that it doesn't work when it works perfectly well. Do you have a Schrader valve on your head to relieve the pressure when it gets too fat?
