From: Rod Gill on 1 Mar 2010 02:56 That I'm aware of, there are no problems with saving and clearing passwords. The problem is either with your installation or corruptions in your files. Large numbers of links (master files, resource pools, inter-project links simply roll the corruption dice more often. Once you have an xml file, in Project go file open and select file type xml and open the one you created before. -- Rod Gill Microsoft MVP for Project - http://www.project-systems.co.nz Author of the only book on Project VBA, see: http://www.projectvbabook.com "PG" <PG(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:CA767088-6BB9-4DE7-BAEE-45AD2FDA1D60(a)microsoft.com... > Tks Rod. From: PG on 3 Mar 2010 01:31 i converted the xml file ok now, but same error problem. I'm working at a university, and someone in IT had the same problem with files not related to mine, so it appears that maybe there is a corruption with the program installation on our Uni shared drive. things move slowly in Uni's unfortanetly, so it may take a few days to have it re-installed, then if still a problem, it could be a problem with project not being compatable with the way the Uni network is configured. next step would be the uni IT asking Microsoft technical for the solution. i phoned MS, but they wanted $390 to answer my question!. I'll keep you posted. thanks again for your suppport.
