had fresh install few months back of xp, everything was working fine then
used ccleaner then right after noticed problems.....missing or corrupted
drivers including driver for cd/dvd drive then system crash, recover from
serious error now windows will only start in safe mode...
I am thinking of trying repair xp

the install disk I have does not have sp3 on it, will it work ok and

Yes I forgot to mention I tryed several times.....several dates.....did not

I doubt that Ccleaner caused your problem; more likely you have something
else corrupting your system. A repair installation may not work for you.

You can make an XP disc with SP3 by slipstreaming:

....or hundreds more sites with instructions are available to you.

If you have anti-virus, anti-malware, etc. installed, disable them,
reboot, and try system restore again. Some, Norton in particular, will
prevent system restore from working.
