Just got a text from 3 PAYG redirecting me to a website listing many price
increases from 22nd April:

Voicemail - was free, now 15p/min
Landlines/crossnetwork - was 20p/min, now 25p/min
MMS - was 25p, now 30p
International calls - various increases
084/087 - up from 15p/min or 15p/call to 20p/min or 20p/call
09/070 - also increasing

That's a pretty comprehensive increase across the board!

Hmm, just checked and I got one too... but I'm on Flat12 and the old prices
shown don't make sense (I suspect they've just lifted the 3Pay pricelist).
They've helpfully restricted the link to only work from handsets, so I've
put a copy here:

http://www.markettos.org.uk/ephemeral/3payg.html

(the CSS has gone AWOL so the mobile version formats slightly better than
that)

I've sent them an email to see if these rises also apply to Flat12.

You beat me to it. I got an alert msg from them this pm.

That's their strategy - suck you in with all kind of great sounding
deals like 'free' calls for life, and then raise the prices above
inflation.

So its bye bye Three then. Even since they ripped me off for £6 for a
30 min.call to a local landline (at 20p) I've been wary of using the
S2 as a real phone.

25p is high for a landline / cross network call (Giffgaff is 4p / 8p)

And 45p a minute to Band 0 - aka EU countries - is outrageous
(Giffgaff is 16p)

And the 'free' stuff has no real attraction for me - which you have to
pay for.

* Three 2 three calls is useless I know no-one whom I can call.
* Free texts are OK - but I get those with Virgin PAYG anyway.
* Free Internet is largely useless on such a small screen phone as the
S2, and using this as a modem soons runs out
* Twitter - I'm not that socially deprived to need this
* Facebook - with or without graphics - ditto
* Skype calls and SMS are OK - but I have few contacts so rarely use
these
* MS Messenger - forget it - its too draining on the battery

The good thing about the new outrageous voice mail charge is that now
I can get Divert switched off. This will then allow me to receive
incoming calls on Skype on my laptop, instead of my losing them 'cos
the Three network hi-jacked them to voice mail even if the S2 was
switched off.

Does anyone know if Skype Out for international mobile / landlines are
still OK?

Does anyone know if the £15 a month for 5Gb mifi is going up?

I'vr just seen on another forum, that 3's customer service feedback
short txt code is 33027. I'd recommend dropping them a quick txt
regarding the price increases. Who knows, if enough customers complain,
they might think again.
