Had no problems here, just ordered full edu box for just shy of 100.
TBH I don't think Adobe is being that draconian with it, still in the
early generations of let it gain traction, and then we'll start clamping
down on it. The serial will work on numerous machines without any phone
home to check up on you. [1]

I didn't think the price had changed that much. It's always been around
200ish mark.

There's a 30day free trial anyway. As I've been using LR since the first
beta, I've just ordered the LR3 upgrade. Keep meaning to look at
Aperture but can't be fussed with trying to convert my DB over, and LR
works for me.

[1] Or at least the LR1/LR2s did, my LR3 is in the post so I can't
comment on that yet.

Before there were any state schools, there were private schools run
for profit and at the whim of the proprietor, and public schools
which, though they charged fees, were run on a "charitable" basis,
were open to all who could afford the fees or win a scholarship, and
were considered to be for the public benefit.

ok, that makes sense.

It says...

If student is under the age of 18 and does not have a valid, current
Student ID with photo or credit card, the person purchasing the product
for the student must provide a valid, current photo ID and corroborating
evidence of student's eligibility:
• Official, current non-photo student ID with name and
date
• Official, current school transcript indicating name of
school and student
• Official, current school tuition bill indicating name of
school and student
• Official, current report card indicating name of school
and student

Righto, so it's possible, but seems to be rather OTT. Even M$ are more
trusting than that.

I'm sure LR2 had reached £299 at one point.

Yes, that's the bit that might hurt most. I'd only really want to give
it a go *if* it was cheap enough, and *if* the benefits were great
enough.

That's surprise me too, all the other stuff phones home - even Elements
does.

Cheers.
