Seems you've missed the point of this thread, which is that it's kind of
astonishing that such a huge amount of data can be called "nothing".

Oh, you probably mean 'A professional, licensed or certified
engineer'?

Unfortunately they aren't the sort that normally look after such
things in the UK.

From WiKi (FWIW but spot on as per my understanding of the use over
here, irrespective of the literal use).

"In the UK, the term "engineer" can be applied to non-degree vocations
such as technologists, technicians, draftsmen, machinists, mechanics,
plumbers, electricians, repair people, and semi-skilled occupations."

A year or two back, there was an article in Physics World about the
computery stuff there were doing to support the LHC project.

They've organized quite a /lot/ of bandwidth, haven't they? All over
the world, too.

Tim, T i m was just trying to get a rise out of me.

I decided it wasn't the right thing to rise to that part of the bait.

T i m's just doing his usual game of objecting to all my points by
deliberately misrepresenting my points and raising invalid and rather
silly objections for the sake of winding me up.

It's his usual shitty behaviour - he's got an obsession with me, you
see, he can't help himself.

He needs help, does T i m. I bet he won't seek it - but you do need
help, T i m, you're suffering from a morbid obsession here, and you need
to get it sorted out for your sake.

See your doctor, you need access to a mental health professional to help
you understand and deal with your mental health problems.
