Agent is an excellent application. Panic should take a close look at it
to see how to properly write reliable multi-threaded software.

Install Crossover then choose the install unsupported software option, point
Crossover to the install file for Agent 4.3 and install it in to a new
Windows XP bottle. Agent will install and run once installed.

What I did is very simple: I installed first Agent 4.3 (or any 4.X)
into a WinXP machine, and I selected some groups to monitor. Then I
copied the whole "C:\Agent" folder to my Mac machine, who had
CrossOver (9.0) already installed (and with Ms Internet Explorer 6.0
also already installed in the same bottle). Then, I ran it under
CrossOver (CrossOver->Programs->Run Command) and I selected also "Save
Command to Programs Menu". That's all!!!!!

The mouse works better in the Mac if you have XQuartz 2.5 already
installed too, but it is not mandatory.

I don't know if the same procedure work for Agent 6.0, but version 4.X
is good enough for me, and far better than any other Newsreader.

You're kidding, right? One big strength for Mac is usenet clients. Why
would *anyone* run usenet on a PC if they had a choice?? There are so
many viruses that hang out there.

Buying Unison seems to have straightened out MT-Newswatcher. Instances
of deadly twirling whatsit have gone to nearly zero.

Now that I have to rebuild the filters for name switching devils, I
might try Unison just to see if it fared better or perhaps disappeared
with my iTunes radio station links.
