Some versions of Linux are becoming rather bloated, IMHO. As per a previous
post Linux is a generic term. As a rule of thumb if a Linux distro cannot
fit on a CD it would be too bloatware for a Pentium III. A mini distro such
as Xubuntu running a smaller windows manager such as Fluxbox will run
happily on a P3 384MB Ram system; I don't think VISTA /WIN7 would even try.
There are even smaller windows managers such as JWM and I can tell you even
with JWM programs look and feel much as they would under Windows-XP�.
