Is e2save owned by Carphone Warehouse? Only the 1 penny test transaction that happened when I ordered it triggered an automated anti-fraud call from my bank, the first time that has ever happened to me. The bank told me the transaction was from CPW. -- Graham. %Profound_observation%

I got my Motorcycle insurance from Swinton (35cb) and Orange contract from e2save (42cb) this year, both through Quidco so my fiver for this year has already been paid. An alternative to Quidco is http://www.topcashback.co.uk/ they don't charge the fiver per year, but i don't know how reliable they are. I caused a massive tailback at a supermarket checkout when trying to pay by Mastercard a couple of hours later - till locked and phone calls to their merchant services provider with no other payment method accepted. The Visa issuer phoned me much later and an email from e2s followed later still. When phoning in response to this they knew only of the Visa refusal (the Mastercard refusal being "at my end" so it doesn't show on their CS screens) and they tried to get me to complete payment over the phone - but that would probably scupper the cashback so I declined. Both card issuers claimed that mobile phone transactions (especially at this time of year) are likely to trigger a referral to the fraud department but I don't know that it's necessarily that simple. |
