Their emails are advertisements, and advertisements use lots of
fonts and bright colors. The problem is that the people at small
businesses who compose their own emails lack the talent and training
of the people who work at ad agencies.

No. And you are much better off to not do this. Mail properly supports
format=flowed, so not inserting returns willy-nilly means that the
READER gets to determine what is and is not 'readable', which is at it
should be. There is no sense enforcing your preference, however sensible
it might be, onto someone else.

And these 'business' emails are most often either properly tagged as
spam, or are seen in plain text. If there is no valid text-only version,
then it goes tot he bit bucket.

I expect to be able to read mail quickly, and often only spend 1 or 2
seconds scanning an email. Anything that makes that more difficult is an
imposition on my time and is unlikely to generate any positive feeling
on my part.

I always find it amusing when people assume that an NRA membership
equals right-wing wingnut.

Just like I find it perplexing that the ACLU thinks there are only 9
Amendments in the Bill of Rights.

Interesting. I seem to recall reading not too many years ago about how
the ACLU refused to take *ANY* 2nd Amendment related cases. Is this a
recent change or is my early onset kicking in already?
