From: Costas on 11 Dec 2007 08:07 Brian, Did you create a document library to add the spreadsheet? What exactly did you do after you went to Site Actions | Create ? -- Costas "Brian" <Brian(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6D5D57F2-BBBD-47A2-8412-6AB0CA62DCE6(a)microsoft.com... > Installed WSS3 in parallel to WSS2. From: Brian on 11 Dec 2007 12:28 Costas, Sorry.. I was tired.. I am trying to Create a 'Custom List', using the 'Import Spreadsheet' function. So.. 'Site Actions' | 'Create' then under “Custom Lists” | 'Import Spreadsheet' This opens a “New” window, and I fill out “Name”, “Description”, and “File location” (the file is on the workstation I am using, on 'The Desktop'). The “Import” button causes Excel 2007 to open the spreadsheet, and an “Import to Windows SharePoint Services list” dialog box. I select “Range Type” : 'Table Range', and “Select Range” : 'A & A!Table1'. Clicking the 'Import' button produces the error. Thanks for your help, Brian "Costas" wrote: > Brian, > > Did you create a document library to add the spreadsheet? From: Costas on 11 Dec 2007 12:59 Brian, The 'Select Range' element should be 'Sheet1!Table1' . I assume you renamed 'Sheet1' to 'A'. Is that correct? I'm not sure that the 'A &' in front of the table name is. If selecting the range is not an option (by selecting 'Range of Cells' under 'Range Type') try recreating the table by highlighting the range and clicking 'table'. Change the name of the columns and try importing again. Under 'Select Range' it should should "SheetName!TableName". Importing the range will be easier but you'll have to rename the default Colum names within SharePoint after you do that -- Costas "Brian" <Brian(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3DCA76A4-18FF-42D1-A2A4-33C5283BBB81(a)microsoft.com... > Costas, > > Sorry.. Also, tried saving the workbook as .xls, .xlsx, and .xlsm same problem. Brian "Costas" wrote: > Brian, > > The 'Select Range' element should be 'Sheet1!Table1' .
