Call me a pedant but I'm getting heartilly sick of seeing a hardware
newsgroup filled up with Windows issues. There are several Windows-specific
groups and the chances are that this issue has been resolved and they are
much more likely to have the answer than folks (no matter how helpful) in a
hardware group.

Usenet has thousands of seperate groups for a reason..... All the
well-meaning people who reply to posts like this do nothing to help keep
groups on-topic.

alt.comp.microsoft.windows?
alt.comp.os.windows-xp?

They are two of about 200 groups dedicated to windows issues on my news
server. Also MS run their own web forums for this sort of thing. Google
would have likely given you the answers too.
