Not a problem. As you will appreciate, as a blind user, I needed the
sounds. Like you, I got irritated because i'd never even find out that
mail had arrived for me.

Hmmmm...I use Mail 4.2 (1077) under SL 10.6.2 and don't see a New
Account button in that location-- only a plus and minus sign under the
list of accounts.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure, using the exact same version. Did you definitely click
advanced after clicking accounts in the preferences toolbar? It's next
to Mailbox Behaviours.

I'm in the US and assume I'm running the US version of the programs. If
you are in the UK, you may have a different version of the programs(s)...

Mine doesn't have any Maillbox Behaviours box-- we'd call it Behaviors
if we did...

Interesting. I'm in the UK yes, but i'd naturally assumed the software
would be the same, surely this is the point of a good UI design?
