parameterization of data
Hi, I'm having a problem where I have 4 parameters that can fit my data. However, these parameters are somehow related to 6 variables that I can control. If I compile lots of data of how the 4 parameters vary with these 6 variables, is there an efficient way in MATLAB to derive some empirical relationship between t... 15 Apr 2010 16:58
font setting of figures
Hi, I have a few hundreds of Matlab figures simulated in 2009b (linux), in which font size of texts (title, x/y axis, legend, textbox, etc) were set as 8. When I open them again in Matlab 7 (Windows), the font sizes are now 10 for all texts. This makes my plots are messy. I can manually change the fonts one by one, bu... 15 Apr 2010 19:12
Trim figure whitespace around axes
"Jan Simon" <matlab.THIS_YEAR(a)nMINUSsimon.de> wrote in message <hkva79$mtb$1(a)fred.mathworks.com>... Dear Kate! Is there a way to "crop" the figure so that it only contains the subplots that are present, and gets rid of the unused whitespace? I need to keep the same size and aspect ratio of the re... 15 Apr 2010 13:37
feedback circuit help urgently required
I am trying to design in matlab a feedback circuit, however I am struggling with this concept. I have placed my code below for a 2 coefficient IIR filter. The issue is that I get this error: ??? Attempted to access y(2); index out of bounds because numel(y)=1. Error in ==> Feed_Back_2_Coefficients at 7 y(n)=b... 15 Apr 2010 19:12

Truncated Pareto distribution
Hi, I would like to simulate a truncated pareto distribution where the parameters are : mean=6; max=12.5; shape=1.2; scale=2.5; location = tp_scale; for the generation of random values, I use gprnd function random_pareto = gprnd(tp_shape,tp_scale,tp_location); But I didn't k... 15 Apr 2010 13:37
Data Mining

Convenient cftool fit output
Hi all, I'm using cftool to rapid-fire fit a large number of curves (~30-50) to exponentials with 3 to 5 fitparameters (Rate, amp, asymptote, etc.) I'm looking for a quick way to output the fit parameters for all 50 or so fits I have in cftool to a text file. I know about saving to workspace, but that appears to f... 15 Apr 2010 14:44
