Have it running on two pc's here - very satisfied with it but updating
the defs is a long procedure:
1. windows update or
2. www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Definitions/HowToMSE.aspx

I thought updating was done automatically

Yep updating is done automatically here, and in the background without
fuss. I changed to it some months ago, because the payware and
freeware alternatives that *I* tried did not ask for permission to
delete, etc. MSE does ask first.

I have it on 3 PCs.

Updates are seamless and quick.
Got rid of all the other freebies and have MSE on 4 machines plus
recommended it to many others.
