For most newsgroups including this one you want to bottom-post or inline post with appropriate trimming. This pretty well covers the possibilities but always assume bottom posting unless otherwise advised. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posting_style Myself, I usually look at a few posts to see what kind of quoting is going on and follow suit. When I open a post with responses already made, then I'll follow whatever method was used there to keep the flow of the information going.
