From: abc on 30 Dec 2009 11:57 Do you know if it's possible to install only OE6 software from MS Office XP? I still want to use the OE front end for newsgroup access. Thank you.
From: Tom Willett on 30 Dec 2009 12:05 OE 6 does not come with Office, nor does it have anything to do with Office. It's part of Internet Explorer, and it's already on your computer. From: abc on 30 Dec 2009 12:40 Yes that's right, I am currently using OE / XP Professional for posting to newsgroups, but this is my old machine and I am transferring to a new one. I had forgotton that it came with IE6. I wanted to know how to get a copy of OE 6 and install it on Windows 7. Is this possible? Thank you. No. You cannot use OE in Win7. You can use Windows Live Mail, (What MS considers the upgrade for OE), or a third party app such as Thunderbird, Forte Agent, Gravity, etc. Windows Live Mail (Overview & Features): http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview This will run on XP if you want to test it out. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP [Mail] Imperial Beach, CA "abc" <noreply(a)mail.com> wrote in message news:uKlC6bXiKHA.3792(a)TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Yes that's right, I am currently using OE / XP Professional for posting > to newsgroups, but this is my old machine and I am transferring to a new > one.
