From: Jim on 5 May 2010 05:18 I've got an old G4 1.25 (or 1.33) PowerBook with a problem - the power supply is giving up the ghost. It's becoming harder and harder to get the thing to charge - I have to keep twisting the charger plug (where it goes into the PBoko) until the light comes on, and then any movement is likely to break the contact again. I also have an old G3 600 iBook with a power supply that has the same style of connector - is it safe to use that? Or would the G4 be drawing too much power? I've not actually tried this yet. The iBook is lower rated than the powerbook (we had the same issue a few years back) and it will get very hot without charging the battery -- Woody

I sense a trip to eBay in the near future to see if I can get a replacement one. You should be able to use it to charge up the battery during the day whilst it sleeps though. > I sense a trip to eBay in the near future to see if I can get a replacement > one. > Make sure you pick up the 65w version, most of the chargers supplied with iBooks were the 45w version. -- Jon B Above email address IS valid. <http://www.bramley-computers.co.uk/> Apple Laptop Repairs.

I might give tha a try, but I'd be a tad worried in case I forgot about it and left it like that during the day. Coming home to a burnt out shell of a house would put a bit of a damper on my evening. > >> I sense a trip to eBay in the near future to see if I can get a replacement >> one. >> > Make sure you pick up the 65w version, most of the chargers supplied > with iBooks were the 45w version. Duly noted, thanks.
