The electron moves to a higher orbital upon the absorption of the quantum of mæther by the atom because there now exists more mæther between the electron and the nucleus of the atom. The quantum of mæther occupies three dimensional space between the electron and the nucleus, forcing the electron into a higher orbital.
From: spudnik on 26 May 2010 00:56 there's more similarity between water-waves and waves of light, then difference, but the photon -- particular, spherical wavefront, what ever you want -- only has enough energy to effect one orbital (the entire wavefront or "photon".) all you have done is replaced "energy" with "maether," formulaically, then said a bunch of stuff that is akin to ideal gas theory -- what ever and congradulation! > The quantum of mæther is the photon particle. --Light: A History! http://wlym.com
From: spudnik on 26 May 2010 00:58 ipso facto, dood; you define it, you decide!... or, is it a physics koan? thus quoth: When a photon is absorbed by an atom, what is being absorbed is a quantum of mæther. The quantum of mæther absorbed by the atom forces the electron into a higher orbital. --Light: A History! http://wlym.com

I am explaining how, in terms of E=mc^2, the transformation of mæther from matter to aether creates energy. Mass is conserved. When matter converts to aether the mæther increases in volume. The physical effect the increase in volume has on the neighboring aether and matter is energy. > > The quantum of mæther is the photon particle. > > --Light: A History!http://wlym.com |
