Well, I guess it is not going to come out now as my MacBook is in the bath applecenter. For the mac version, I would think a couple of weeks, assuming that it doesn't do anything that is non obvious on the screenshots. Assuming a familiarity with iPhone dev etc. For a non mac version, quite a bit longer, unless you can find some server monitoring software already made for these servers, then it should be no harder than the Mac version -- Woody

One and a quarter round our way. Likely not to include QA at that sort of price. Cheers - Jaimie -- "How do you like your blue-eyed boy now, Mr Death?" - e e cummings/Tom Baker

Likely not to include QA at that sort of price. That's external price though surely? If it costs you that for development internally you need to start outsourcing! -- Woody

External indeed - I was taking Daniele's 1000 as coming from the customer direction. "Worth" is probably an inappropriate word, mind... very subjective! To make an app that does what that one does, ie, gather existing stats from a group of servers, probably a couple of thousand if you want it slick and good looking. A few weeks should do it (assuming it doesn't do anything not apparent from the screenshots) To do that with other types of servers though, not even close if you have to generate that data first. Although I am sure there is some open source monitoring that you could use (or commercial). -- Woody www.alienrat.com |
