Those are easily disabled if you grab the free Lingon.app - leaving it in-situ but disabled *might* be enough to fool EyeTV into not making it active again. -- Chris

Thanks for the suggestion Chris, but it doesn't appear in Lingon's list. I found these instructions on macosxhints: chmod 444 /Library/Application\ Support/EyeTV/EyeTV\ Helper.app/Contents/MacOS/EyeTV\ Helper Does that look like a safe thing to do? If so, how do I do it? Copy and paste into terminal? -- Michael mhphillips at gmail dot com

Darn. Plan B then :-) > > I found these instructions on macosxhints: > > chmod 444 /Library/Application\ Support/EyeTV/EyeTV\ > Helper.app/Contents/MacOS/EyeTV\ Helper > > Does that look like a safe thing to do? That makes the actual helper application non-executable. That's worth trying, and easily undo-able. > If so, how do I do it? Copy and paste into terminal? Yes, but you have to be careful of spaces and line breaks and stuff. If you make sure it is all on one line that would probably be OK. To be able to undo your change, first do: ls -l /Library/Application\ Support/EyeTV/EyeTV\ Helper.app/Contents/MacOS/EyeTV\ Helper -- Chris
