Anyone know why this might be happening? Have you configured the Energy Saver preference pane to boot it at a particular time? If not, what's in system.log when the machine boots on these occasions? -- Chris

These could easily be causing the computer to immediately start up again after shut down. If so, it looks like a bug in SilverKeeper Scheduler. > Jul 8 19:23:05 michael-phillipss-mac-pro com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[92] > (com.wacom.wacomtablet[115]): Exited with exit code: 1 > Jul 8 19:23:05 michael-phillipss-mac-pro shutdown[839]: halt by mhp: > Jul 8 19:23:05 michael-phillipss-mac-pro shutdown[839]: SHUTDOWN_TIME: > 1278613385 588569 > Jul 8 19:23:05 michael-phillipss-mac-pro mDNSResponder[27]: mDNSResponder > mDNSResponder-214.3.2 (May 14 2010 15:29:49) stopping > Jul 8 19:23:05 michael-phillipss-mac-pro DirectoryService[15]: BUG in > libdispatch: 10F569 - 1960 - 0x10004004 > Jul 8 19:23:05 michael-phillipss-mac-pro MacaroniTool[44]: Macaroni Daemon > received signal 15 > Jul 8 19:23:05 michael-phillipss-mac-pro WindowServer[69]: hidd died. > Reestablishing connection. > Jul 8 19:23:05 michael-phillipss-mac-pro MacaroniTool[44]: Stopping Macaroni > daemon > Jul 8 19:23:05 michael-phillipss-mac-pro WindowServer[69]: bootstrap_look_ip > failed: Unknown service name > Jul 8 19:23:05 michael-phillipss-mac-pro MacaroniTool[44]: Macaroni daemon > stopped > Jul 8 19:23:05 michael-phillipss-mac-pro MacaroniTool[44]: Macaroni daemon > exiting > Jul 8 19:23:37 localhost com.apple.launchd[1]: *** launchd[1] has started > up. *** > Jul 8 19:23:46 localhost bootlog[39]: BOOT_TIME: 1278613417 0 Nothing else there stands out. -- David Empson dempson(a)actrix.gen.nz

I've had a read in the Elgato forum and it seems that this is a known problem with EyeTV and Snow Leopard, supposed to be fixed but apparently not. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll remove EyeTV Helper from my log-in items and see if that does the trick. -- Michael mhphillips at gmail dot com |
