On my S2 I have BREW 3.81.0.0 - it does not have manual refresh of
Skype Contacts and Chats.

It was forced on me by the system.

That's interesting info.
Chris, I would appreciate it if you would do the following tests and let me know the results.
Call the "Skype Call Testing Service" on 'echo123'
After the beep, *briefly* press 1 2 3 on the keypad.

Do you hear the three DTMF tones played back to you?

Then repeat the above, but this time hold the keys down for about a second each.

Do you hear more than three DTMF tones, consistent with the keys repeating
like typing on a PC keyboard?
Thanks.

They are sold both as PAYG and contract, or you can by PAYG phone and
replace SIM with SIM Zero where you pay no monthly charge. You pay 1.95
admin charge when ordering online. Skype works and is free on both PAYG and
contract.

Tried that. When I press for a short time I get a short tone. When I
press longer I get a longer tone. There does not seem to be a key
repeat effect. BUT pressing 1 2 3 I get three tones - all at roughly
the same pitch. Mind you on the S2 the sound is very distorted - and
normal speach difficult to hear. But on the PC it is as clear as a
bell. CJB.

That's very encouraging, it sounds like the way DTMF sent during a call
is more conventional on the later software. Having the digit repeat if
the key is held down is not helpful to anyone.
