Also no graphical glitches while running that. Booted back into SL and got lines on my desktop now, so maybe it is a driver problem? I'll read through the docs for 6.3 and 6.4 and see if any X1600 driver got changed. Had no problems at all before 6.3. Only other way to test will be another clean install and no updates until I'm certain there is no problem with just 6.0. Also I forgot to mention before another glitch I get sometimes is "tearing" when scrolling a window. Thanks so far. Pete.
From: Peter on 2 Jul 2010 09:24 OK, my entire screen just did a "white out" and the whole machine died. Hopefully I can get iStatPro installed this time to check temps. Hope its not on its way out as I can't afford another Mac and would hate to have to go back to Windoze :-( Pete.

Temps in C CPU: 46 Ambient: 30 GPU Diode: 53 Mem Controller: 50 Mac HDD: 47 Don't know if these are high or not, don't thinks so and I have the line back on the desktop. On to driver research lol. Cheers, Pete.

I just had a major tooth glitch, and it's going to cost more than my new iMac. Tons more in fact- about 3000 quid all told. And not something I'd care to put off. So, computers are cheap... Still, the iMac arrives next Wednesday, so it's a small comfort. -- Peter

Are you trying to trick him into searching under "carpet burn" in order to find out more? ;-) -- Bruce Horrocks Surrey England (bruce at scorecrow dot com) |
