From: Meinhard Schnoor-Matriciani on 25 Sep 2006 12:07 Hi Carlos, don't be afraid. Of course even VO's lifetime will end sometime in the fututre, as every product, but it'll be around the next couple of years for sure. Remember a couple of years back. There were also a couple of guys which predicted the end of VO and what happened ? It's still alive and most of those self appointed wise man have disappeared. Gone with the wind and with all their wisdom. No loss. Interesting enough, if you look to the other VO oriented forums, like the german one, there seem to be still a lot of 'insane' programmers which are working instead of producing heated air ( actually they don't have the time to do so, because they have a lot of assigments ) . A new version is in front of us and those who are interested should concentrate on this instead of contributing to these foolish threads. I wonder what would happen when we all leave this guys alone ? My advise, ignore them. BTW, we are going to announce a new version of our product (the Application Factory 5.2) too, which will be build with VO 2.8 ! And we'll have a new product too ! Again being build with VO 2.8, its name will be VOUnit and is a set of libraries and a runtime component which enables you to do automatic unit testing with VO, much like NUnit does for the .Net world. And the best thing, VOUnit will be free and open source ! Regards, Meinhard

From: Geoff Schaller on 25 Sep 2006 19:31 Carlos, In all seriousness I also see a request for 'pre-orders' as negative. It shows a serious lack of confidence in the marketplace and a distrust for VO loyalty. It is also double-speak for stalling - a way of saying nothing in order to make to appear like something. A feature list of bug fix list would have been better. What is on the website is pathetic so something concrete would at least have been positive. Geoff
From: Geoff Schaller on 25 Sep 2006 19:35 Lipstick on an aging pig? Hmmmm... This is hilarious. Is that what you really think of VO then. OK, I don't because it is making us money and has always done so. And probably will continue to do so. This aging pig is bringing home the bacon for us. <g> ...emotive buggers the lot of you!
