I tried several Mac nesreaders and didn't like any of them when I moved
over to a Mac just over two years ago. I have a Windows diary programme
(iDaily diary) which is indispensible for me so I invested in Crossover and
now use both that and my trusty old Dialog on it and I'm very happy.
Apparently Agent also works well with Crossover.

I tried most of the main candidates and found them all bizarre. Not
just Mac different but just all over the place (but then I've got this
thing about 'one app' needing more that one window).

Ok.

Hmm, I did run VB to be able to get Agent running on OSX but found the
whole process too messy, considering (I had no need or drive to go to
OSX).

In fact I think I tried Agent under Crossover. If I was to close OSX
and leave Agent open in Crossover, would it shut it all down nicely (I
think I remember something like that being an issue).

Agent and Dialog use the same three pane layout. I have Crossover working
all the time with snow Leopard. Just click on the dock icon for Crossover
and my two programmes (which I always have open) come to the front.
Switching back to any Mac programme is just a matter of hitting the
appropriate doc icon or using Cmnd Tab to switch between all my open
programmes. You don't have to shut down either Crossover or OSX at any time.
It's all very seamless as there's no actual Windows installation involved.
Crossover (or either of the two related programmes) shuts down without a
murmur if you should so wish to do.

I use Agent in a single pane view. I can only deal with one thing at a
time. ;-)

Ok.

Ok.

The only time I use those sorts of commands is if I can't get to the
desktop for some reason or my mouse has stopped working.

I know I don't have to but I don't generally leave my PC's on when
I've finished with it.

Even if there were I wouldn't mind.

But does it / they shut down cleanly if you shut *just* shut down OSX?

My point is if I have to shut down Crossover (even if it closes Agent)
before shutting down OSX then that's more aggro than just shutting
down XP.

Well last night that didn't work but as you'll see from the headers, it
appears to have automagically fixed itself.

I have no idea why.
