I'm perplexed - they don't come up on mine computer. Wonder if I have all
the settings in correctly - but have 10 showing.

10 what?

Currently, there are 26 microsoft.public.windowsxp groups being carried
by E-S, including this one (general). There are *many* other
microsoft.public groups as well.

Make sure you have selected the All tab (instead of the Subscibed one)!
You may need to reset as well.

E-S is highly recommended. Although there is a registration process, the
service is free. I hardly ever see SPAM posts.

I see 1772 at the moment.

My own ISP manages to come up with 2601.

I'm sure many, if not most, of them are empty or otherwise worthless.

Microsoft itself has trimmed down to just 214 groups.

You need to read the instructions on their web site. You probably
aren't authenticating with your ID and password properly. You can also
scan through the e-t help groups, which you probably are able to see -
yours is a common complaint by people who are not set up correctly.
