It's most definitely a Starter but it seems to
have quite a lot.

I haven't investigated your info but I will soon.
I'm trying to get the data from the
TBird in my Win2K box to the Win 7 and am having
trouble with MozBackup. For a
start I have no instructions. Still looking :-)

I have no problems so far with FFox3.5 but am
having trouble getting the TBird
data from my main computer into an empty TBird on
Win 7 S. According to Mozilla the TBird 2.0.0.23
should work. I have already done an small test and
it does work.

Forget MozBackup.

On the source machine, enable hidden files and do a search on
"*.default". There should be a file with a random eight digits for * --
e.g. "mxon0une.default"-- in the Thunderbird file path.

Find the corresponding file on the target machine, and clear its
contents. Copy the CONTENTS of the source file INTO the empty file on
the target machine.

That's all there is to it.

Thanks Mark. I had forgotton that trick. Will
repeat it tomorrow and will report back.
I found MozBackup very cumbersome and gave up on it.

PS Forgot to mention I have an Asus netbook (sorry now I didn't wait
for the Ipad) which came prepacked with Win 7 Starter. Afai can tell
thats about what they're capable of running - howsomever if you wish,
I will check out what is 'so' different with the Win 7 Ultimate
upstairs.

I love the netmachine, its a flier at 1 gig ram. I didn't bother
adding much to it, just what portables I can run from a flash drive.
Our office network is as secure as I can make it - and I use cable at
home to keep it updated. I'm one of those people who are happy enough
with the innards of IE and windows mail - actually I've dropped Moz
due to lagging like molasses :-(\)
Someone here put me on to Comodo Dragon and Its got a nice plain feel
to it
(doesnt do email) - I don't use extensions -
https://chrome.google.com/extensions
And it is mostly used for the g/kids to do facebook

Cheers
Tommy
