Plug it into your Mac. It will start charging (and syncing).

In fact in iTunes you'll get a charge indicator next to the device - when
there's a wee lightning bolt in it, it's charging. When there's a
two-pronged plug, it's not.

Oh I can see that, but don't I have to charge the new phone for a while
before i can use it? 10 hours or something? Or is that very old school?

Mine had a something-like-80% charge when I got it. I don't think you have
to condition them in any way though.

Tr�s pass�, darling - it has a Lithium-Polymer battery that requires no
such tomfoolery. Only for Ye Olde Nickel Cadmium batteries.
