I'm doing the same, except I'm also doing the calendar. I find being able to edit the calendar from any machine and have the changes appear within seconds on the iPhone is quite useful to me. I did originally do the gmail calendars and contacts, but I could never get them to sync with the mac. They synced with the two iPhones and the website fine. So I got a .me account. That deleted all my contacts and calendars, so I guess gmail was more successfull! -- Woody
