That is especially true for a photon if it is a directed/pointed wave in the aether which when 'detected' collapses into a quantum of aether. The wave does not just collapse in a double slit experiment. In the photoelectric effect experiment, when the photon interacts with the metal it collapses into a quantum of aether. The quantum of aether physically enters and occupies three dimensional space within the metal. Photons physically entering and occupying three dimensional space within the metal cause electrons to be emitted.
