well, only reluctantly so... ;-) it wouldn't be the only exception applying to
the UK.

it does, but i was just responding to michaels statement that there wasn't an
easy way to get some money to pat without getting the product. you do still need
a credit card, though, that's true.

yup, and as for EU, UK is not ``"schengen compliant"'' (e-g. they
still use their funny money with pretty engravements instead of
the horribly colored mangas the EU has now ;-)

Now, as for the use of cheques they were not blown away in fr_FR
and that stil remains the only possible payment for many stuff
(e-g: direct dough being prohibited for employement).

As for the initial question I understand the concernment about
remote credit card payments especially for countries that doesn't
use the 3 digit number special security extension, anyway there are
in most banks possibilities to have a special e-card, either by
having a specific for e-payments using only a pre alimented
caged account or, a 'sort of one way usage virtual card', that is
a complete short life virtual card is generated for a specific amount
and time only. Each solution don't really protect from a badass
but he won't get the ability to try and siphon all your provisions.

yes i've heard and researched that too and i think citibank is capable of
that but than i would need another bank account yet again and all the
costs related with it ( i already have 2 )

a while ago i also heard from my boss that they're implementing pin
protected credit cards
