Apple seems to be reading bug reports quickly these days. They already asked for more information (which didn't reveal any useful data). It may be helpful if other people running iOS 4 could confirm whether or not they also see the problem, and if so, what device (including generation) it is. I can then tell Apple that it seems to be affecting every device running iOS 4, or not, as the case may be. To test it, do the following: 1. Start with the iPhone or iPod Touch screen off. 2. Click the home button once. This should bring up the unlock screen after a short delay. 3. Once the screen is awake, double-click the home button. This should bring up the iPod controls. 4. Let the screen go to sleep again. (The iPod controls should disappear after a few seconds, then the screen goes to sleep a few seconds later.) 5. Now with the screen off, double-click the home button. In iOS 3.1.3 and earlier, this woke up the screen and brought up the iPod controls. (Confirmed again on my iPod Touch after I had downgraded it to 3.1.2.) In iOS 4 on both of my devices, it only wakes up the screen. The iPod controls are not displayed (unless you then double-click the home button again). -- David Empson dempson(a)actrix.gen.nz

Double Click from asleep only unlocks. iPhone 3G 16GB Version 4.0 (8A293) Model B496B Lynn Wishing she'd never upgraded to IOS4 on 3G iPhone more like a downgrade :-(

Double Click from asleep only unlocks. > iPhone 3G 16GB Version 4.0 (8A293) Model B496B Your observation about double click from sleep is what I wanted to know, so thank you for that. (Double-click while awake isn't relevant to the issue.) I now know that the behaviour is consistent across the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, 2nd gen iPod Touch and 3rd gen iPod Touch (all running iOS 4). I'd still like to hear from anyone with an iPhone 4. I'd also like to know if anyone running iOS 4 (on any device) DOESN'T see this issue, i.e. double-click from screen off brings up the iPod controls rather than just showing the unlock screen. -- David Empson dempson(a)actrix.gen.nz
