From: erilar on 8 Apr 2010 10:48 This just came up on a harp list I belong to and I thought this was a good place to throw it into. Harpists and other musicians often carry pretty heavy gig books around, and the thought of being able to use an iPad for a self-lighting replacement just came up on that list. I also have a pretty heavy music/lyrics loose-leaf notebook I use in, among other places, a campfire situation where I have to use a flashlight to see the pages. I don't know how one would handle the page-turning part, but the thought of putting all that stuff on an iPad makes it really tempting! This is apparently not possible yet, but does it sound like a possibility? I have or can put my music and pages of lyrics on my computer, so my immediate version of the question is, will it be possible to upload documents from my computer to the iPad? What about a .pdf? -- Erilar, biblioholic medievalist http://www.mosaictelecom.com/~erilarlo

You must not be a musician; that's too small for sheet music on a music stand 8-) > > there's also this: > <http://www.air-harp.com/> > > > I have or can put my music and pages of lyrics on my computer, so my > > immediate version of the question is, will it be possible to upload > > documents from my computer to the iPad? What about a .pdf? iPDF Reader is free. iFiles is a file manager/loader-$1. Also Macintouch has a brief list of apps at <http://www.macintouch.com/reviews/ipad/apps.html> BTW, you might get more/better suggestions posting to comp.mobile.ipad.

Nope. Too small, won't sit on a standard music stand and its too faffy to change a page mid-piece. -- Conor I'm not prejudiced. I hate everyone equally. |
