How many good > tablets that are better than the iPad will there be to pick from? How many of these "better tablets" will be able to run the 200,000 or so applications which currently exist for the iPhone/iPod/iPad? Oh thats right. None. You really are a lobotomy case.

Are you saying that we now ignore the past because Archos apparently didn't make a profit afterall? New times, new technology, new attitudes. > How many good > tablets that are better than the iPad will there be to pick from? You have Dell, HP, etc. If they put a tablet computer out with all the features a computer has, I would think it would sell better thsn the toy iPad. And it is a toy. Zero, because you've allowed me pick the definitions of "good" and "better". :-P If you want to get technical. AFAIC, the real question to be asked is - how much *profit* will the tablet segment make in the industry in 2010, and who gets what sized share(s) of it? Consumers don't care about how much profit the company they're buying from make. The reason for phrasing the question this way is because the current tablet market has been in the doldrums and not particularly profitable for anyone. The only way that profit is going to significantly increase today is (not by continuting to do the same old thing, but) by a breakthrough in the the "product formula" which makes it far more compelling to consumers (thus, increased sales). I agree. *Whoever* this winner is, then good for them. There's no law that says it has to be Apple...they're just the odd-on favorite for today's bet. They are "first in". Too bad they left a lot out. -hh

Ask yourself; why hasn't Apple published the sales figures? Assuming of course you are capable of thinking.
From: JF Mezei on 31 Mar 2010 21:24 re: multitasking Members of the Church of the Apple have no philosophical problems accessing the apple web site where you can get real facts about that iPAd thing. The videos there clearly show that you can quickly switch between applications and return to them where they were before. Looks to me like appl are hibernating when they are in the background. The music applications are allowed to run in the background on the IpAd. As time progresses, Apple is bound to allow more and more background processing by apps. But I don't think we'll see multitasking changes in the UI.

"SOLD OUT" could simply mean that Apple Corp has committed all available units to distribution/stores. I It cannot mean that all stores have sold off all of their inventory since stores have not sold units yet. Still, it is great PR to make the product appear like a sure winner, highly popular etc. Apple is good with PR. |
