It's the web - you can find one example of just about anything. The reality is that millions of owners are not bothered at all with the design decision.

Perhaps you should ask the guy who claimed that Win7 sales were going like stink because MS had reported at some point during launch of "selling out" of the 64bit versions ... in Japan. But it is an interesting factor, since what it does do is start to manage the expectations of sales. Specifically, there's IMO been an attempt to illegally manipulate the stock price by an online pundit who has been openly saying that anything less than a million units sold initially would indicate that it was a failure...but by Apple hanging up the "Sold Out" sign a week before release, it sends the clear message that no matter how many sales are originally reported, it was due to a supply constraint, not a lack of consumer demand. IMO, what's going to be more revealing is the current 12 April delivery date. If you think about it, you'll understand why, both ways. -hh -hh

Good for them. Now how many units have they sold, and how much profit did this bring in for Archos's stockholders? -hh

His statements of "it hasn't bothered anyone on the iphone" and "actual users aren't complaining about it" are incorrect. This reminds me of when W95 had (MOL) preemptive multi-tasking and MacOS still have cooperative. "Tons" of people were commenting how cooperative was just fine.. until MacOS got preemptive. -- Rick |
