You're being disingenuous (what a shock) -- the cingular newsgroup is
still active, at least as appropriate as long since defunct attws, is
not the only group you expunged; I didn't remove attws; and your post
was entirely an off-topic meta discussion.

My experience after upgrading from 8.something to 9.1 (because I
needed 9.1 to support the iTouch I bought after my Classic died)
is that the address that is in the iTunes DB can wind up being
changes so that it no longer points to where the file actually
(and still...) is.
