The first whinge is simply untrue in the current version of iTunes:
Genre is easily added or hidden; the others are too trivial to pursue.

They just filled it with stuff I had to delete or hide.

If you think downloading the full preview before playback begins is
"trival" then you've never been outside the US :-) It is the ONLY way to
get playback of previews without stuttering here in NZ.
