It's a clone of an old messy-dos tool. Much more than that. It's got ftp builtin which is great and the original NC never had that. Both Nano and MC are in Slackware 13 (and they are in 12.0 too). Nano is a variant of Pico, and Pico has long been included, I guess always as part of the Pine package. I've not checked, but Nano may now be the editor included with the Alpine package (Alpine being a variant of Pine, and the one that's included in Slack 13). The "install disk" is now the DVD (or multiple CDROMs, so the stuff is there. The only other way I can interpret your question is that you think it should be available when booting the DVD during the install phase. Michael

Based on the rest of the thread that is what I believe the OP wants. --keith -- kkeller-usenet(a)wombat.san-francisco.ca.us (try just my userid to email me) AOLSFAQ=http://www.therockgarden.ca/aolsfaq.txt see X- headers for PGP signature information

Hallo, Michael, Du meintest am 25.11.09: >> Can we (extra pretty) PLEASE have Nano on the install disks? > Nano is a variant of Pico, and Pico has long > been included, I guess always as part of the Pine package. No - it's an own package. At least since 3 years. Viele Gruesse Helmut "Ubuntu" - an African word, meaning "Slackware is too hard for me". |
