I think, many people would be interested in trying/using it. -- Mikhail

He's kind of open to dicscussion, I had talked to him about a few programs I think should be in it by default (such as postfix, dovecot, and I threw in pureftpd as well for measure), he suggested those in slackbuilds, I then suggested that they are very mainstream programs and it would be beneficial to have them in the offical release, like most every other distro does (at least with postfix and dovecot), I guess we'll know in time if he deicdes to, but since that was over a month ago and there's no appearance in -current I dare say he isn't going to in the near future. >>> Midnight Commander would be nice too, and there is plenty of room on huh ? 'mc' is, and has been, in Slackware for a very *long* time. -- Res "What does Windows have that Linux doesn't?" - One hell of a lot of bugs!

The Slackware installer uses busybox, so vi (and ed) is all that's available then. It runs from a RAM disk, so it's very unlikely that a separate editor will be added, even one as small as nano. But nano (and mc) _are_ in the (13.0 probably "and before") distribution (the tagfile for the "ap" set gives: jed:OPT joe:OPT jove:OPT mc:OPT nano:REC in which "OPT" means optional, the question in an interactive install will have as default NO, while REC is recommended, the question has as default YES). The other two are ADD (the package will be added without a question) and SKP (no question, no install skipped). You can create your own tagfiles with the "maketag" script in each fileset. -- ******************************************************************* ** Eef Hartman, Delft University of Technology, dept.
