You can restore and it will run, OEM on another server, but the license will be invalid as far as a MS Audit is concerned, but SBS won't know the difference and it will activate if you do it by phone and explain the issue. You are permitted to change the server IF the old server is not operable and the vendor can not replace it with the SAME hardware. Yes, supposedly all the hardware is exactly the same. Thanks for the url to the Win 7 problem description. I am recreating a new backup now and will try to restore from that.
