I've spent hours without success trying to get it to work, despite the

Every time it tries to access the bootable OS9 install CD SheepShaver
crashes. I know the CD is bootable because (on my MDD G4) I can boot
into OS9 from it.

Several of the G4 PowerMacs can. Mine (MDD Dual 1GHz) can, but Classic
is a waste of time IMHO.
