Just as Photoshop is a waste of time for me because I don't do stuff with photos and iTunes is a waste of time for me because I don't listen to music on my computer. However, some people need (or maybe just enjoy) programs that require Classic, so Classic is not a waste of time for them. Obviously Apple have decided that it is a waste of their time and other resources to support Classic and that is a perfectly valid commercial decision for them to make. However, some of us would still like to find an alternative way to run our old programs. Kit

Also for current time, it is nice to have a ~6 GB 10.4.10 partition in startup volume labeled as "Repair" with NO HACKS installed and just utilities as Disk Warrior, Techtool (if you purchased it). Even Disk Utility can do great work. I do it since my Amiga days and it never hurts. What is 6 GB in current HD scene anyway? :) It is also great to test new software before installing to main boot partition or test new devices. Ilgaz

I went mad to Apple abandoning billions of lines of work/history but if this is the case, they should put a small knowledge base article explaining. They have some marvellous PR but on Technical issues, they lack it. Ilgaz

My upgraded-processor Sawtooth will probably boot Leopard, and it will certainly boot 9.2.2 (which it doesn't, because I've got my 10 gig 9.2.2 hard disk sitting in an anti-static bag in a box somewhere in the basement, but still ...). Hmm. I can probably try booting over the LAN, since I put ('restored') my Leopard install disc on a nice clean partition on the Mac Pro, but I haven't got 2 licenses, so That Would Be Wrong; what if I kept my eyes closed? -- W.
