I've found out that I probably already have a ROM file in the System Folker. That should be the case for all 'new world' PPCs. And I have found a file that is a probable candidate for that part: 'Mac OS ROM'. Unfortunately I can't make it work. But also, I don't know where to put it; I've tried the SheepShaver folder but perhaps it should be put somewhere in the SheepShaver [or SheepShaverGUI] package instead? It is simply impossible to find the necessary documentation: 1. How to get the ROM image. But on this site I see it should be a 'new world' model: <http://www.macinfo.de/hardware/boards-g3.html#quicksilver> 2. How to install the ROM image. 3. How to install MacOS 9.1 {the one I would prefer}. Etc. -- Per Erik Rnne http://www.RQNNE.dk

Put it wherever you want, but then you use SheepShaverGUI to tell SheepShaver where it is. Mine is at ~/SheepShaver folder/Mac OS ROM After running SheepShaverGUI, there is a "rom" line pointing to the ROM in the file ~/.sheepshaver_prefs that it creates. |
